4 Ways To Incorporate CBD Into Your Daily Routine

Updated: Nov 5, 2020

There’s no questions that the stigma around cannabis has been slowly dissipating over the last few years and CBD from hemp has been booming as a result.

Many people wonder how to take CBD and incorporate it into their daily routine.

With the popularity of CBD on the rise, it’s easier than ever to consume your CBD in various formats from tinctures to creams and edibles.

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, most commonly known as CBD, is a compound found in hemp and cannabis plants that has been known to provide relief for a number of ailments, conditions and diseases. CBD is 100% non-intoxicating, unlike THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is responsible for providing a euphoric "high" that cannabis is known for.

What is CBD Used For?

Some of the more common reasons why people use CBD:

  • Anxiety

  • Stress

  • Inflammation & Pain

  • Sleep Deprivation

How Does CBD Work?

All mammals have an Endocannabinoid System (ECS). The ECS consists of receptors, called CBD1 & CB2 that react only to cannabinoids, such as CBD & THC. The ECS helps to regulate many bodily functions such as appetite, pain perception, body temperature, sleep patterns, hormones, mood and immune response. The main function of the ECS is to make sure other systems are functioning properly or at a state of balance, this is also known as "homeostasis". The ECS does this by producing chemical compounds called Endocannabinoids within your body, which act similar to neurotransmitters like serotonin or dopamine. CBD interacts with our ECS and other receptors, such as Serotonin, Vanilloid and Adenosine A2A, to exert it's anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety and pain-relieving properties.

4 Ways To Incorporate CBD Into Your Daily Routine:

1. Morning Coffee - To say coffee is a life line for most of us is an understatement. While research is still emerging on the effects of mixing CBD and caffeine, there is plenty of anecdotal evidence that CBD from hemp can help with the alertness effects from caffeine, while also taking the edge off the jitters it can cause.

*Note - CBD dosing is different for everyone. Low doses of CBD have been known to cause more alertness, while medium doses are more calming and large doses are sedating. Always start small and increase your dosage until you find your desired effects

2. Workout Recovery - After a long day at the office, hitting the gym is a great way to de-stress from your hectic work schedule and a great way to maintain a healthy lifestyle. While regular exercise is fantastic, our bodies also need time to recover. If you’ve been at this game for a while, you’ve probably experienced times where your athletic endeavors can take a toll on your body and cause some aches and pains that need healing.

By reducing pain and inflammation, we’re actually helping our bodies recover faster, so we can be ready for our next workout.

3. Work-life Balance - Many people need some time to ease into their work day, while others jump right in. The stresses of our fast-paced multi-tasking modern day work life has led to more anxiety and lower quality of life than ever before, which in turn can cause many physical health problems.

CBD helps to lower stress and anxiety and can be taken in the morning to start you day stress free or after a long day to decompress.

4. Bedtime Routine - One of the most reported effects of CBD is how it improves sleep. Some studies suggest that CBD’s ability to treat insomnia is a byproduct of its ability to curb anxiety. Other studies suggest that CBD may have direct therapeutic potential to treat insomnia by promoting REM sleep behavior.
